The X-PLUS ET and PLUS ET are two new series of stepper drives from RTA which incorporate an EtherCAT control interface. Depending on the variant chosen the units can be used with dc, ac transformer or direct online power supplied delivering motor phase currents up to 6A/phase.
The EtherCAT interface is used to set the drive and motor parameters and to send and receive motion control data. It also allows for much simpler connection of multiple drives when compared to the more usual step/direction interface.
