InterVision global secures innovate UK grant to develop flexible production technology

InterVision has embarked upon a 22 month Research and Development program for the development and manufacture of a new flexible automated production system for the medical sector

In recognition of the innovation and technology advances associated with this program, InterVision Global was awarded a highly prized matched grant of £560,000 ($815,000/€725,000). The company secured this funding in the face of stiff competition and is one of just 36 companies to receive funding, from a total of nearly 200 applications.

The system being developed by InterVision Global will utilise a wide range of technologies including Robotics, 3D Machine Vision and Laser Marking. Discussions with early adopters indicate that this system, if trials prove successful, will remove manufacturing process risks, significantly increase production throughput and greatly reduce time to market for orthopaedic medical device manufacturers.

InterVision Global Director Mark Worlidge commented: ”Succeeding in our Grant application serves to reinforce the excellent reputation we have within the medical device sector for our innovative and rigorous approach to part identification, inspection, tracking and traceability. The knowledge and expertise that we have built up over the years will be at the heart of this new system, ensuring that the anticipated benefits will be realised in a production environment.”

InterVision Global is recognised as a leading supplier of machine vision technology and systems for inspection and verification within the Healthcare & Pharmaceutical, Medical & Life Science, Food & Beverage and Defence sectors.
