Due to a flurry of last minute requests Insider has extended the deadline for entries to the Made in Northern Ireland Awards to 31 March 2017.

The Made in Northern Ireland Awards recognise and reward manufacturing companies which have demonstrated success in innovation, product development and growth in either domestic or overseas markets.

This is the fourth year that Insider has held the event which is part of a national suite of manufacturing awards. The UK-wide winners are then entered into the Made in the UK Awards which will take place later in the year.

Sponsored by law firm Tughans and HSBC, the awards are supported by Manufacturing NI, Invest NI, the NI Centre for Competitiveness and the Northern Ireland Polymers Association.

The eight award categories are as follows:

•   Apprenticeship/Training Scheme

•   Innovation

•   Exporter

•   Medical & Life Sciences

•   Technology

•   Food and Drink

•   SME manufacturing company of the year (turnover below £25m)

•   Large manufacturing company of the year (turnover above £25m)

The shortlists for each category will be announced in early April with the winners being revealed at the awards lunch which will be taking place at the Europa Hotel, Belfast on 12 May 2017.
